Is how teachers set up their classrooms important? The answer is most definitely yes. Classrooms should be student-centered and encourage participation, engagement, and learning. However, many modern classrooms fall a little short.
As a teacher, there are many things that you can do to facilitate student-centered learning like mixing up your seating options, reorganizing the layout of your classroom, and getting rid of your desk. All of these things sound hard and out of reach but with a little work, research, and dedication classrooms can become a place where all students thrive, not just a select few.
